Camden High School Leadership Team
Liza Anderson
Meet our Principal
I am proud to be part of the Camden Team, serving our students, educators and families. I have a great love for the Camden High School Community and was excited to return in the Fall of 2022. Spectacular things happen here every day and I am blessed to be part of an incredible school with amazing students who truly impress and inspire me. My door is always open! I strive to provide support and collaborative leadership for our students, families, and educators. My hope is that Camden High School is a community in which each community members feels they belong, are supported and thrives.
Prior to serving as Camden’s Principal, I served as the Principal of Field Elementary School in Minneapolis. I was also an Assistant Principal and Academic Program Coordinator at Henry High School and taught science in the Moundsview School District for over 10 years. As a student, I was highly involved in athletics, the arts, and leadership. Those experiences and the relationships that grew from them helped to form me into the person I am today. I encourage each student to engage in a variety of activities during high school, try new things and explore what brings you joy and motivates you.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Concordia College, a Master's of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of St. Thomas and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from University of St. Thomas. This is also where I earned my K-12 Principal License.
I am a Minneapolis resident. I have three children (one son, two daughters). All three attend(ed) Minneapolis Public Schools and one is currently in college studying mechanical engineering. When I am not at Camden, you will find me enjoying time with my kids and four year old labrador, reading a good book, biking (road & mountain) or taking a long run or hike.
Camden High School values being accountable to our community, believing in each student, building a community that reflects the northside, dismantling systems and behaviors that oppress our community members, ensuring that each community members experience at Camden is equitable, having fun by cultivating joy and belonging, and being growth-minded by learning and growing to embrace new and innovative practices in our school community.

Meet our Assistant Principal
I am happy to be part of the Camden Team, serving our students, educators and families. I have a great love for the Camden High School Community and was excited to return to where I started my educational career, High School. Young people are the reason why I do this work that I do, and I am excited to see everything that Camden Community provides.
Prior to serving as one of Camden's Assistant Principal, I served as the Assistant Principal at one of our feeder Elementary Schools, Lucy Craft Laney @ Cleveland Park Community School right in the heart of Minneapolis. I was also a Special Education Teacher at Roosevelt High School, where I began my educational career. As a student, I was highly involved in the arts and leadership opportunities.
I have a degree in Mass Communications, from Saint Cloud State University. I later got my Master of Arts in Education and began working as a Special Education Resource Teacher. I believe in student voice and opportunity/access. How do you know if you can't do something if you don't have access to it?
I have a wonderful wife and two kids who are not old enough to attend MPLS schools but are rising in age. You might see my family at one of the Camden High home games, we always enjoy watching basketball during those cold winter months.
